Why the Green Bicycle Hub?
Immigrating is hard, being a refugee is harder, and (for those who are LGBT+) immigrating to a country that is safe for you is even harder.
I am not an immigration or legal expert, but the hope is that having a hub of information might help make someone's immigration/asylum journey just a touch easier by helping to connect them to people who are, and know what countries may be options for them.
But, why call it the Green Bicycle Hub?
.
I wanted something people in need of safety (whether they be LGBT+ or not) could safely look up for resources, without feeling like they needed to say why.
Obviously, this site focuses on LGBT+ people seeking asylum (though it is open to anyone), and I had to consider a neutral name and main page wording that would avoid potentially outing any LGBT+ users, while also making this site open to other users who may need to move for their safety for other reasons.
Since Green bicycles are common everywhere, I thought "Green Bicycle Hub" might be a decent equivalent to "Purple Sweater."
Note, the title is not to fool anyone, but is rather to enable individuals seeking information to do so without worrying about endangering themselves.
Website creation
Please note that this website was made using a template and did not involve AI. I tried my best to make it user-friendly, but if it's not, I sincerely apologize.

I grew up in the countryside, Michigan to be exact, and my family always gathered together for mealtimes. We would cook together and my grandparents’ vegetable patch was the pride and joy of my grandmother.
In my opinion, we should rethink our somewhat problematic relationship with food. At its best, it brings people together and nourishes our bodies. It shouldn’t be our enemy.
